Melanie Gibson-Barton - "a really entertaining speaker"
Zoom talks: I am currently giving my talks via Zoom.us - for your members to enjoy in their own homes at a time to suit your society, group or club. Please see my website page from the Home page: 'Zoom Talks by Melanie' for more information. E-mail me or telephone to discuss arranging this easy-to-use facility: email@example.com or 07900 637171. I have the joy of daily seeing how Zoom talks are keeping groups together in these current strange times. One member was able to join her Zoom WI meeting to hear my talk from her hospital bed - amazing. As a U3A President said: "While not every one of our members has access to a Zoom talk to not run Zoom talks excludes everyone!" East Malling WI: 'Thank you for presenting our very first talk via Zoom. You are such a compelling speaker' Thame and District U3A: "thank you for bringing your professionalism to our first attempt at a large Zoom meeting", "U3A is all about Learn, Laugh and Live - today you brought all these aspects together for us". I have been providing a series talks on-line for the WI Denman College on Monday evenings - see www.denman.org.uk/calendar. "Throughly excellent talk (Eva Braun - Victim or Contriver?), wonderfully composed and delivered". More talks are available on Monday evenings in November and December plus I am to be asked to repeat them in 2021. In September I was delighted to give a talk in the USA - using Zoom - to present my 'Elizabeth Barton - the Maid of Kent' talk to the USA Barton Society. My 'Bruges - it's more than just chocolate' was recently enjoyed via Zoom in France and 'Passchendaele to Peace' was presented to audience members in Canada.
Info.: I am currently taking bookings for talks in 2021, 2022 and even 2023 - my diaries are filling fast and I would love to give one of my talks for you.
"The best speaker we've had" is a regular comment I receive with delight.
I have delivered my talks to an enormous variety of groups of all sizes over the years.
From auditoriums to a conservatory in a back garden, from Annual Council Meetings for WI Federations and AGMs, National Trust, U3A, military societies, horticultural, friendship, church, Rotary, ARA, Probus, Soroptimists, CSMA, Trefoil and Oddfellows societies. From audiences of 600 to a regular booking for five ladies in South London and from After Dinner Talks to afternoon tea parties.
I simply love giving talks - and they have even been described as 'not a talk but a performance' - and meeting new audiences. I am a full time speaker and give talks in the mornings, afternoons and evenings and I enjoy regular repeat bookings. I charge a competitive fully inclusive fee - I do not charge per mile - and I bring all my own equipment so you can sit back and relax. Please see my List of Talks for the seventeen talks I currenlty offer. I also regularly undertake commissions for talks, for example, Leigh WI celebrated their 100 year birthday and asked me to produce a talk about Suffragettes for them, resulting in my popular 'The Suffragettes and The Suffragists - Votes for Women' talk.
You can book me with confidence and sit back and relax while I provide your audience with a professional, informative and entertaining presentation, accompanied by colourful powerpoint slides. I bring all my own equipment for venue talks - I'm entirely self-sufficient! - including a screen and a natty sound system - so your audience will hear me. I give my talks without reading from notes.
I have passed auditions to become a registered speaker. I am featured in numerous Speakers Handbooks for organisations such as WI - West Sussex Federation of Women's Institutes gave me their Annual Council Meeting spot at the Assembly Halls in Worthing! You will find my name on national speaker registers such as Mirthy and Dianne Mannering's national website Public Speakers Corner. You can be confident of a high quality presentation.
Let down by your speaker the day before your event? - just ask me, I can often step in at short notice for you.
My base is in the South East but I am always delighted to travel further afield and charge a competitive, inclusive fee - I don't charge per mile - just ask.
I look forward to receiving your enquiry and, of course, your booking!
